Dr. Gary Michels DDS
For over four decades, Dr. Gary Michels has dedicated his life to serving the people of eastern North Carolina. Driven by his passion to make a difference in his community, he has chaired a local school board, served on church councils, and is a co-founder of The Dream Factory of North Carolina, a charity that has granted over 250 dreams to seriously ill children.
Committed to education, he has lectured to dental societies across North Carolina and has founded his own learning center, which provides post-graduate education to other dental professionals. Dr. Michels is also the author of several books, including “Unusual Success in Dentistry” and “New Smile, New You!” and holds a patent for a dental device. He served as an adjunct professor for East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine, where he shared his passion for dentistry and clinical knowledge with younger dentists and has even run the Walt Disney World Marathon.
Dr. Michels is a proud father of three children. His son, Austin, has become a dentist just like his father. His daughters, Alexis and Arissa, are both devoted and caring nurses, offering their expertise and support to those in need in the Raleigh area.
Dr. Michels sets an exceptional example of dedication and service. He has inspired countless people to strive for a better world and make a significant impact on the lives of those around them.
Education And Training
During the 1980 graduation ceremony of Emory University School of Dentistry, Dr. Michels was recognized and awarded for his exceptional clinical achievements. He graduated “With Honors” and ranked second out of ninety-three fellow dentists in his class. He was also inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a renowned national honor society for dentists.
Dr. Michels has dedicated himself to becoming uniquely qualified to assist his patients in achieving the brightest and healthiest smiles imaginable. He is a highly skilled cosmetic dentist who has undergone extensive training. He began his training with Dr. Ronald Goldstein, a man many consider to be the founder of cosmetic dentistry and has since continued to study under the guidance of the most noted practitioners in the United States, including Larry Rosenthal, famously known as “the dentist of the stars” in New York. Dr. Michels remains passionate about putting smiles on the faces of each and every one of his patients.

Dr. Chris Gauquie DDS
Dr. Chris Gauquie has been a North Carolina resident for over 40 years. He received his undergraduate degrees from North Carolina State University and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Medical College of Virginia where he graduated with honors. He was involved in student government and was an active member of the Psi Omega Dental fraternity.
Dr. Gauquie has been practicing dentistry since 1999 and has earned a Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantology. Since then, he has pursued the best continuing education possible to enhance his skills and provide the most advanced care of his patients.
Dr. Gauquie enjoys an active lifestyle outside of the office. His hobbies include lots of outdoor activities such as golfing and spending time at the beach with his family. He also enjoys traveling to exciting destinations with his wife, Heather. Dr. Gauquie and Heather have three beautiful children. The oldest is their daughter Drea 17, their son Britt 16, and their youngest son Kellan 12.
Dr. Sarah Langley Harrell DDS
Dr. Sarah Langley Harrell is a Pitt County native. She graduated with honors from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science and minor in Spanish before returning home to Greenville where she graduated from East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Harrell is a member of the American Dental Association and North Carolina Dental Society. She is committed to maintaining the highest level of continuing education and vows to be a lifelong student. Dr. Harrell enjoys serving in her church and volunteers in the community regularly.
As a longtime patient of Michels & Gauquie, Dr. Harrell is thrilled to have come full circle and now be working alongside the incredible team that always made her experience so positive.
Dr. Harrell and her husband, Morgan, have a two year old son and a beloved cockapoo named Cooper. Dr. Harrell and her family enjoy being outdoors, particularly on the water or at the beach. They love cheering on the Pirates!
Dr. Cameron McGee DDS
Dr. Cameron McGee was born and raised in Greenville, NC. He attended high school locally at South Central and then furthered his education with East Carolina University. Dr. McGee graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering.
After graduating from East Carolina, Dr. McGee took on a position at a local manufacturing facility doing electrical engineering. While employed as an engineer, he began his education in the dental field at his alma mater and graduated from ECU dental school with the class of 2019.
He has been practicing dentistry for over 4 years now and continues to further his knowledge and expertise in dentistry, including receiving additional training in digital dentistry and orthodontic treatment.
Dr. McGee and his wife, Jonanna, have two beautiful daughters. His daughter, Annie, is 2 years old, and his youngest daughter, Charlotte, is 10 months. In his free time, Dr. McGee enjoys spending time with his family whether hanging out outdoors and grilling or relaxing together in their home in Winterville, NC.
Dr. Leah Anderson DDS
Dr. Leah Anderson resides in Greenville, NC. She is from Tarboro, and grew up spending her weekends in Atlantic Beach and Bath, NC with friends and family. Needless to say, her favorite place is on or near the water. Leah graduated summa cum laude from NC State University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. From there, she attended East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2020. She loved her time at ECU, and it was there that she discovered her passion for prosthodontics. After dental school, Dr. Anderson moved to Chapel Hill and attended the 3-year Graduate Prosthodontics Residency Program at UNC Adams School of Dentistry, where she served as chief resident and earned her Master of Science degree in Oral Biology. She worked closely with oral surgery, periodontics and orthodontics residents and faculty to treatment plan and carry out complex, multidisciplinary cases. During her time at UNC, she also received extensive maxillofacial prosthodontics and dental implant training. She is well-versed in treating trauma and head and neck cancer patients, and developed close relationships with leaders in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at UNC Hospitals to surgically and prosthetically rehabilitate these patients to restore form and function.
Dr. Anderson specializes in all types of tooth replacement, including crowns, bridges, dentures, implants and partials. As a prosthodontist, she is well adept at dealing with complex cases involving esthetics, missing teeth and tooth wear. She uses the most up-to-date technology and research-backed techniques available for treatment and surgical planning, and in doing so, she is able to explain and convey proposed final outcomes to patients.
Dr. Anderson is down-to-earth and is known for going above and beyond to take care of her patients. She is very close with her family, especially her mother, and is looking forward to spending more time with them and the family dogs now that her formal training is complete.
